Dr. Juliana Millán (ella/she)
Academic & Clinical Experience:
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, and a Master of Science and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Albizu University, Miami Campus. My clinical training across South Florida and Colorado has allowed me to work with individuals and communities from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. I have provided care across the lifespan through individual and group therapy in outpatient medical, school-based, non-profit, and community-based settings.
My clinical focus has expanded to include psychedelic-informed care. I have completed advanced post-graduate training through Fluence Training, the Certificate in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies and Research at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), and PRATI’s Foundations in Psychedelic Medicine Training, with a specific emphasis on ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. Collectively, these programs emphasize rigorous didactic learning, experiential training, ethical practice, cultural humility, and applied clinical skills.
My training includes foundational knowledge in the pharmacology of psychoactive substances, research literacy, therapist and facilitator competencies, harm reduction principles, preparation and integration strategies, and the global history of psychoactive plant use. Through PRATI, I received immersive training focused on the clinical application of ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, including working with non-ordinary states of consciousness, supporting individuals with severe depression and suicidality, ethical and safety considerations, and the therapeutic use of set, setting, music, and ritual within legally sanctioned clinical contexts.
My Therapeutic Approach:
My therapeutic approach is humanistic, trauma-informed, and person-centered. I believe healing emerges through a collaborative and attuned therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, acceptance, openness, congruence, and respect for each person’s autonomy and pace.
When appropriate, I offer psychedelic preparation and integration therapy, as well as ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, within ethical, legal, and evidence-based frameworks. This work is informed by contemporary research, embodied and experiential learning, and global wisdom traditions related to altered states of consciousness, while remaining firmly grounded in clinical safety, informed consent, and harm reduction. My intention is to support meaning-making, nervous system regulation, and the integration of insights into daily life, relationships, and values—while holding space for complexity, vulnerability, and growth.
It is always an honor to walk beside you.
